By Field Researcher

Location: Near Durness, Sutherland

Date Observed: 1997-11-28

A crofter in the far north reported a recurring visitor to his lambing sheds—a spectral cat with a white diamond on its chest that appeared only during the new moon.

Archival Sighting ID: SU-97-02

  • Location: Durness hinterlands
  • Cultural Context: Local folk association with "The King of Cats"
  • Credibility: High (supported by anomalous kill patterns)

The witness claimed the cat did not attack the sheep but seemed to "inspect" them. He described it as standing as tall as a collie dog with fur that seemed to absorb all light. Local Gaelic speakers in the area noted that the description matches the classic Cait Sìth proportions described in medieval manuscripts.
